About the product
Forma Pro develops and integrates complex software systems for digital businesses across marketplaces, advertising, logistics, PropTech and other industries.
Our backend work includes high-throughput APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, real-time processing, external integrations and infrastructure that supports AI and machine learning applications.
The problems vary between projects, but the common requirement is the same: systems have to work reliably in production, not only during a demo.

About you
- You enjoy designing systems, not simply implementing tickets
- You are comfortable making architectural decisions and explaining the trade-offs behind them
- You care about reliability, maintainability and performance
- You can work independently with little supervision
- You are willing to investigate unfamiliar systems and integrations
- You take ownership of what happens after software reaches production
- You have a proactive approach and are comfortable working in a small senior engineering team
Required skills and competencies
- Spoken English — upper-intermediate or above
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience
- Strong experience with Go, Python or another backend language and willingness to work with both Go and Python
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservice architectures
- Experience designing REST APIs and service contracts
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Experience with asynchronous processing, queues or event-driven systems
- Experience with cloud environments
- Unit and integration testing experience
- Understanding of performance, security and production reliability
Would be a plus
- Experience with high-throughput or real-time systems
- Kafka or similar streaming technologies
- Kubernetes
- Observability and distributed tracing
- Infrastructure as Code
- Experience integrating ML models, LLMs or AI services into production applications
- Experience with marketplace, advertising, attribution or logistics systems
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and distributed systems
- Design APIs, database structures and service contracts
- Build reliable integrations with external platforms and data sources
- Develop event-driven and asynchronous processing workflows
- Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into existing products
- Improve scalability, performance, observability and fault tolerance
- Write automated tests and improve engineering practices
- Participate in architecture and product discussions
- Review code and contribute to engineering standards
- Diagnose complex production issues
- Take end-to-end ownership of features from technical design through deployment and further iteration
